Guildfolk FAQ

Guildfolk is an invite-only community for game makers, run by Sivants LLC. These answers describe the community as it works today.

Who can join Guildfolk?

Guildfolk is for people making games, including developers, artists, composers, writers and people learning those crafts. You must be at least 18 and have an invitation from a member or moderator. Each person has one account and takes part themselves.

Do I need a shipped game?

No. Game pages support concepts, prototypes, games in development, playable demos, early access and released games. Show the work you have and explain what kind of help would be useful now.

Why the three-reply rule?

Help first: your game goes into the directory after you have replied to three other makers' work. The rule asks everyone sharing a game to contribute to other makers' conversations too. Answer the question they asked and critique the work, not the person.

Can I use AI to make my game?

Yes. Using AI tools to make your game is fine. Bots, automated replies and accounts run by scripts or other people on your behalf are not allowed. Members post and take part themselves, and must have the right to share their work.

How do invites work?

You can request an invite from the homepage or receive a personal invite from a member or moderator. An invite link works once. Accept it to create an account, then complete onboarding to agree to the community rules and describe what you make and how you can help.

What happens to my email?

Your login email is never shown to members. Guildfolk sends invitations, email confirmation and password-reset links. Copies of replies and report updates are sent only if you turn them on. There are no newsletters or marketing emails, and your information is never sold or rented. Contact details appear only if you add them in Settings.

Is my work public?

Game pages, maker profiles, posts and replies are visible to signed-in members. You can choose to turn on a public share link for one of your own posts. Anyone with that link can read the post and its images, but never the replies, until you turn it off. Share pages are kept out of search indexing.
